don’t make it ugly

About

Why does this exist?

I build a lot of things with coding agents, and whenever I want something to look better I end up doing the same treasure hunt: browser bookmarks, GitHub stars, old notes, random links and sites I barely remember the name of.

Don’t Make It Ugly is my attempt to put the good stuff in one place.

Components, inspiration, libraries, repos, design systems, prompts, assets. Anything that can help me or my coding agent build something better.

I’m curating it for myself first. It’s public because it might be useful to you too.

How resources get in

Every resource is added by hand. There’s no scraping, no submissions queue, no ranking algorithm. Something gets listed when it’s genuinely good at one thing: exceptional inspiration, a high-quality implementation, useful assets, a strong design system, or tooling that makes an agent better at design work.

Before publishing, each entry answers the same questions: What is it? Why is it good? Who is it for? Can a coding agent access it, and how? Right now that’s 77 resources and 9 collections. That number will grow slowly, on purpose.

What “agent friendly” means

Traditional directories were built for humans to browse. This one assumes a coding agent may be the one reading the docs, installing the package or inspecting the repo. So every resource is rated:

excellent
Public docs, public source or an installable package. An agent can read, install and implement this directly.
good
Publicly accessible and useful to reference, but the agent will need to interpret it rather than install it.
limited
Mainly a visual reference. Great for humans and for describing a direction, but there's little an agent can read or install.

“Limited” is not a judgement of quality. A visually exceptional gallery is enormously useful to a person even if there’s nothing for an agent to install.

The honest bits

  • Used by me means exactly that. It is never applied to something I haven’t actually used.
  • Pricing and licence notes are as understood at listing time. They change. The official site wins.
  • Nothing here is sponsored, and no listed resource is affiliated with this site. Names and links belong to their owners.
  • Analytics are Vercel Web Analytics: page views and a few product events (searches, copies, outbound clicks). No cookies, no personal tracking.

Because “make it pretty” isn’t a design brief.
