What it is

TypeUI is a platform for giving AI coding tools design context. You start from one of its themes, import your own markdown docs or pull from Figma, publish the result as a design system in a workspace, then connect Codex, Claude, Cursor or another tool through a hosted MCP server. It also ships a library of design skills and UI prompts, and a separate analytics product. It comes from the team behind Flowbite.

Why it’s here

The interesting part is the workflow, not any single prompt: a design system that lives somewhere your agent can query, instead of a rules file that drifts. The public GitHub repo holds the skills and prompts if you'd rather read them than connect the server. We haven't confirmed the pricing tiers, so check before you commit a team to it.

Can my agent use this?

Yes, that's the point of it. Add the hosted MCP server at https://mcp.typeui.sh/mcp to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, sign in when the tool asks, and the agent can pull design skills, prompts and your published design system on demand. The setup guides in the docs cover each tool. Without an account, the GitHub repo still gives an agent the markdown skills and prompts to read directly.
