GOV.UK Design System
The gold standard for accessible, plain-language interfaces.

What it is
The GOV.UK Design System is the open-source system used across UK government services. It is relentlessly tested with real users and assistive technology, and its guidance on forms, error messages, content and accessibility is the clearest you will find anywhere.
Why it’s here
Not pretty in the Dribbble sense, and that's the point. When you need a form, an error state or a multi-step flow to actually work for everyone, this is the reference. The content guidance alone will improve your microcopy.
Best for
- accessible forms
- error messages
- multi-step flows
- plain-language content
