What it is

Rive is an editor and runtime for interactive animations: characters, icons, loaders and UI that respond to input through state machines. Files are tiny and the runtimes are open source for web, React, iOS, Android, Flutter and more. The editor has a free tier.

Why it’s here

The modern successor to Lottie for anything interactive. The learning curve is in the editor, not the code; the runtime side is easy for an agent.

Best for

  • animated icons and illustrations
  • interactive loaders
  • onboarding animations

Can my agent use this?

Agent good agent friendliness

Partly. Your agent can embed and control a Rive file easily using the runtime docs, but it can't create the animation; that happens in the Rive editor. Community files exist to start from.

Good: Publicly accessible and useful to reference, but the agent will need to interpret it rather than install it.
